JERUSALEM, Oct. 24 (UPI) -- Israel may receive the U.S.-built PAC-3 Patriot missile system in the near future and deploy it as part of its defenses against missile attack.

Ynetnews Wednesday said a conference of the Israeli Missile Defense Organization and the Jerusalem Center for Public and State Affairs this week received a briefing from experts on the latest version of the Patriot anti-missile system.

The PAC-3 has 16 launch tubes and would be used to intercept incoming missiles that are not picked off by the Israeli Arrow anti-missile system, Ynetnews reported.
