Canada body-parts murder victim identified

BRASILA, Brazil, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Two men convicted of killing an American nun in the Brazilian Amazon will get a new trial as part of the appeals process, O Globo reported Monday.
Dorothy Stang, who worked with fought for the protection of land for poor residents of the Amazon region, was killed in February 2005 by a contract killer.
The 73-year-old Stang had been activist in Brazil for 30 years when she allegedly was killed by Rayfran das Neves Sales on the orders of Vitalmiro Bastos de Moura.
Sales received a 27-year sentence for his crime. His appeal's trial began Monday. Moura, who was convicted to 30 years, is set to stand trial again Thursday.
