BEIJING, Oct. 22 (UPI) -- Sixteen people were killed and another 15 seriously wounded in an explosion at a fireworks plant in southwest China.
Sunday's blast destroyed several houses and the number of causalities was expected to rise as rescuers examined the wreckage, Xinhua reported Monday.
The blast, which seriously injured several children, occurred in remote Xiushan County in southwestern Chongquing.
