MANILA, Philippines, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- Investigators found a bag containing Royal Demolition Explosive at a Manila mall where a blast killed at least nine people, police said Saturday.
RDX is an ingredient in C-4 military-grade explosive but is also used in products like deodorant. A chemist with the Philippines National Police said traces of RDX were also found at the site of the explosion, The Manila Bulletin reported.
The government offered a reward of 3 million pesos ($68,000) for information leading to the arrest of the bombers.
More than 100 people were injured when the blast ripped through the Glorietta 2 mall Friday. The death toll rose to nine early Saturday after a man's body was found in the wreckage.
Reynald Rosero, deputy chief of the Philippine Bomb Data Center, said water from pipes broken by the explosion flooded the mall basement, hampering the investigation.
