Blast in Pakistan kills at least seven

DERA BUGTI, Pakistan, Oct. 20 (UPI) -- A bombing killed at least seven people Saturday in an area of Pakistan where militants have been fighting government troops for greater autonomy.

The explosion in the town of Dera Bugti, in Balochistan province, injured at least six, the BBC reported.

Militants in the mineral-rich province had been fighting for more power for the last five years, the BBC said.

The blast was not believed to be directly linked to Thursday's deadly bombings in Karachi during the homecoming of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto as she returned from eight years of self-imposed exile.
