MOUNT LEBANON, Pa., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- At least 10 students at a Pennsylvania high school have been diagnosed with a staphylococcus infection, The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported.

Nine of the 10 infected students at Mount Lebanon High School are football players. The Allegheny County Health Department was trying to determine if the field house is the source of the infection.

Guillermo Cole, a spokesman for the Health Department, said drug-resistant staph, or MRSA, has been found at 17 high schools. The county has had 104 cases so far this year, almost twice the number reported in all of 2006.
