Report: Iraqi army nabs al-Qaida leader

BAGHDAD, Oct. 12 (UPI) -- The Iraqi army reported Friday it captured a key al-Qaida leader and an aide during a raid in the Muqdadiya district of in Diyala, northeast of Baghdad.

In addition, Army officials told KUNA they captured four other insurgents in a separate raid inside Shams village south of Baquba, including the mufti of the Islamic state of Iraq.
