GARI DUPATA, Pakistan, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Four security officials were killed when a helicopter escorting Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf crashed in Kashmir.

Musharraf, who was riding in another helicopter in the convoy, was unhurt, but his spokesman, Rashid Qureshi, was hospitalized with three Pakistani military officers, the Press Trust of India reported Monday.

Military spokesman Maj. Gen. Waheed Arshad said the medium-lift helicopter went down near the town of Gari Dupata after it caught fire.

The helicopter's passengers were accompanying the president to a ceremony commemorating a powerful earthquake that shook the region two years ago.
