PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Philadelphia bail commissioner Francis Rebstock set bail this week for three men accused of taking body parts from 244 cadavers at two local funeral homes.

The Philadelphia Inquirer said Friday bail was set at $1 million each for 65-year-old Louis Garzone and his brother Gerald Garzone, 47, for allegedly taking body parts from the cadavers without permission from the deceased's relatives.

A third suspect, 37-year-old James A. McCafferty Jr., had his bail set at $500,000 Thursday night.

The two brothers own a local funeral home, while McCafferty is the director of his mother's funeral home.

The trio also co-owns a local crematorium that is the subject of criminal charges along with the Garzones' facilities.

The newspaper said McCafferty had his funeral director's license revoked by the state as part of an unrelated case earlier this year, while both brothers surrendered their licenses in 2006.
