LAKELAND, Fla., Oct. 4 (UPI) -- Police arrested a Florida man for allegedly claiming he would make the Virginia Tech shootings "look like a (expletive) birthday party" at a class reunion.

Police arrested Timothy Joseph Vaughn, 39, of Lakeland, Fla., Thursday morning for aggravated cyberstalking.

Vaughn had sent the e-mail to a former classmate after the woman contacted Vaughn via a Web site for the Lakeland High School's class of 1985 reunion, the Lakeland Ledger reported.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said at a news conference that on Sept. 10, Vaughn sent the woman the following e-mail:

"I have been 20 years getting over your preppy (expletive)! Nobody talked to me back then so stop talking to me now. So (expletive), I can make Virginia Tech look like a (expletive) birthday party. Stop messing with me!"

Investigators later found a cache of various explosives and explosive devices under construction in the man's bedroom, WKMG-TV, Orlando, reported.

Judd said that enough explosives in operational condition existed to blow up a house, the Ledger said.

Vaughn faces 178 counts of possessing a destructive device in addition to the aggravated cyberstalking charge.

He was held without bail pending a court appearance.
