Wrong man seeks damages from bail agents

NASHVILLE, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- A Nashville man is suing after what he said was a harrowing encounter with a gaggle of bounty hunters who thought he was someone else.

Wayne Keathley alleged he was grabbed and thrown to the ground by agents of the bonding company when he answered a knock at his back door late one night last spring.

The Nashville Tennessean said that, according to the lawsuit, Keathley was restrained for several minutes until one of the bail agents told his colleagues that they had the wrong man.

The agents had been looking for a man who had failed to show up for traffic court.

Keathley is seeking $2 million in damages.
