Poll: Almost half in U.S. creationist

TOKYO, Oct. 1 (UPI) -- The new Japanese prime minister, Yasuo Fukuda, promised to engage in dialogue with opposition parties as he laid out his agenda Monday.
Fukuda suggested he will be less confrontational than his predecessor, Shinzo Abe, Kyodo News Service reported. He promised “politics with warmth” as he addressed Parliament.
Abe, the youngest prime minister in decades, resigned after one stormy year in office. His administration was plagued by a scandal that led to the resignation of two cabinet members and the suicide of a third.
Fukuda promised to continue reform efforts. He also said he will seek reauthorization of Japanese support for the U.S.-led coalition in Afghanistan by providing refueling support for military planes.
