Three Muslim clerics killed in Mosul

MOSUL, Iraq, Sept. 30 (UPI) -- Gunman assassinated three Muslim clerics in Mosul, Iraq, within hours of each other, Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, reported Sunday.

Sheikh Azhar Ahmad Al-Dulaimi, the imam of the Al-Sahaba Mosque in western Mosul, was shot and died instantly Saturday as he was heading to the mosque, KUNA reported.

Half an hour later, in northeast Mosul, gunmen killed Sheikh Salem Sheet Mohammad Al-Hamadani, the imam of the Mahmoud Al-Sadeq Mosque.

Earlier in the day, in southeast Mosul, gunmen killed Sheikh Ghanim Qassem, the imam of the Al-Mehdi Mosque.
