Child-sex tape suspect turns self in

CARSON CITY, Nev., Sept. 30 (UPI) -- A man who allegedly kept a video tape depicting the rape of a 3-year-old girl turned himself in Sunday to authorities in Nye County, Nev.

Police said Darren Tuck told them he found the tape in the middle of the desert, but waited five months before he handed it over to county authorities, CNN reported.

Nye County Sheriff Tony De Meo alleged that during that time period, Tuck allowed others to view the disturbing footage.

Tuck faces the possibility of life in prison for allegedly exhibiting pornography. He also faces a charge of possessing child pornography.

Police have identified the suspect seen on the tape as Chester A. Stiles, 37, of Pahrump, Nev., but have been unable to find him.

CNN said Tuck's attorney, Harry Kuehn, previously attempted to downplay his client's guilt, citing the strange circumstances around the case and Tuck's history with local officials.

"You have to consider what kind of concerns my client had," Kuehn said. "He's previously dealt with the sheriff's office in Nye County; it was previously unsatisfactory."
