David Lloyd and his wife, Annette Edwards, if Manchester have asked a court to order Halifax Bank not to contact them directly. They are also seeking damages for stress and anxiety, The Daily Telegraph reported.

Lloyd said that the bank called his home persistently, "day after day after day, four or five times a day.” He also said that it called the couple‘s daughter scores of times.

Neil Mercer, a Plymouth solicitor representing Lloyd and Edwards, said that the bank may also be responsible for the debt that Lloyd owes, about 10,000 pounds or $20,000. He said that Lloyd had insurance policies with the bank that could have covered the debt if Halifax had paid out on time.

Lloyd said that he notified the bank when he was diagnosed with cancer that he would need time to straighten out his finances.
