ZAGREB, Croatia, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- No injuries were reported in the collapse of three houses and a large section of street at a construction site collapsed in Zagreb, Croatia, police said Monday.

A one-story house adjacent to a 90-foot deep excavation for the foundation of a Zagreb electricity company building and a stretch of the roadway caved in Sunday, followed by the partial collapse later Sunday in the same street of other two nearby houses and a second stretch of roadway some 300 feet long, the Zagreb Vecernji List reported.

Ground movement was detected early Sunday and about 70 people were evacuated before the collapse, police said.

Underground water was seen in excavations and city inspectors banned work on the construction site as police sealed off the area, the newspaper said.
