FRANKFURT, Germany, Sept. 20 (UPI) -- German police apprehended former Rwandan government minister Augustin Ngirabatware, who is wanted on genocide charges.
Ngirabatware was arrested Wednesday in Frankfurt, Germany, where he had been hiding, Deutsche Welle reported.
The former minister is accused of presiding over the Rwandan genocide and inciting the mass murder of the Tutsi minority in 1994.
He is suspected of having provided arms to both civilians and Hutu militia during the genocide, in which 800,000 people were slaughtered.
