LAS VEGAS, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- O.J. Simpson, jailed on kidnapping, burglary and assault charges, posted bail Wednesday and was released from a Nevada jail.
Dueling chants of "Cut the Juice Loose" and "Justice for Ron" greeted Simpson as he entered a vehicle with his attorneys. The one-time football player was found innocent in the killings of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ron Goldman, more than a decade ago.
Simpson posted the $125,000 cash assurity a judge in Las Vegas set in connection with the multiple felony charges filed against Simpson in an alleged theft of memorabilia from an off-Strip casino hotel.
During a hearing, the shackled Simpson told the judge he understood the conditions of his release -- surrendering his passport and not contacting co-defendants, victims or possible witnesses -- and the terms of the complaint.
Simpson and three others were charged in the incident that occurred last week. Simpson said he was trying to recover items taken by a former agent.
After the hearing, Simpson's attorney, Yale Galanter told CBS News that Simpson "appreciates .. the serious nature of the charges."
