Bin Laden's son divorcing British wife

LONDON, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- One of al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden's sons is divorcing his British wife of five months amid fear for both of their lives, The Sun reported Wednesday.

Jane Felix-Browne, 51, married Omar bin Laden, 26, in April, and became stepmother to bin Laden's 3-year-old son from a previous marriage.

She told the British newspaper her husband received a telephone call from members of the bin Laden family in Saudi Arabia threatening he would be thrown in prison on virtually any charge conceivable for marrying an English woman.

"Omar knew who it was on the phone, but he wouldn’t tell me," Felix-Browne said. "After the call he said he felt both our lives were in jeopardy."

Bin Laden runs a scrap metal business in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and reportedly relies heavily on family ties for clients.

He is Osama bin Laden's fourth-eldest son, and Felix-Browne's fifth husband.

She told the newspaper she expects the divorce to be finalized within days, and vowed she will never remarry.
