Warner to voice his intentions by e-mail

RICHMOND, Va., Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Former Virginia Gov. Mark R. Warner plans on announcing his political intentions regarding a possible U.S. Senate campaign through an e-mail.

The Richmond (Va.) Times-Dispatch Wednesday said the former governor will send his supporters an e-mail detailing whether he is considering a run for the U.S. Senate or a return to the governor's office.

The Democrat has been labeled as a possible successor for U.S. Sen. John Warner, R-Va., who plans on retiring.

Some reports had the former governor considering a campaign for governor in 2009.

The Times-Dispatch said that Thursday's planned e-mail announcement suggests Warner may wait until the Nov. 6 General Assembly elections before making a final decision on his political future.
