WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- War critic Cindy Sheehan was arrested Monday in Washington after protesting outside a hearing room where officials were testifying on the Iraq war.

U.S. Army Gen. David Petraeus and U.S. Ambassador to Iraq Ryan Crocker were testifying on the situation in Iraq when four war protesters had to be arrested for disorderly conduct, The Hill, a Washington newspaper, reported.

One of the protesters was taken to a hospital “due to complaint of injury” and is also charged with assault on a police officer, the newspaper account said.

Capitol Police said Sheehan and three others were shouting in a hallway during the hearing.

Sheehan previously acted as the head of the anti-war movement before retiring in May. She later annoucned her intention to run against House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi because Sheenhan said she didn't believe Pelosi had done enough to stop the war.
