LONDON, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- Portuguese police let Madeleine McCann's parents return home to England Sunday despite being named suspects in the 3-year-old's disappearance.
Gerry and Kate McCann returned to their home in Rothley, Leicestershire, with their 2-year-old twins Sean and Amelie, The Sunday Telegraph reported.
The McCanns, both 39 and doctors, may be called before the public prosecutor in Portimao, Portugal, where they could face restrictions on their movements, The Telegraph reported.
The McCanns deny police speculation that Kate McCann accidentally killed her daughter with a sedative and the couple hid her body before reporting her missing May 3, The Telegraph reported.
Portuguese police say traces of Madeleine’s blood were found in the McCann's rental car but6 other forensic experts claim the DNA sample was too contaminated to be used, The Telegraph reported.
