DELLYS, Algeria, Sept. 9 (UPI) -- The United Nations and European Union have condemned al-Qaida-linked bombings in Algeria that killed more than 50 people.
A truck packed with explosives rammed a naval barracks east of Algiers in the port city of Dellys, Saturday, killing at least 30 people.

At least 20 people died two days earlier in Batna when a man blew himself up in a crowd awaiting the arrival of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.
U.N. Security Council Chief Jean-Maurice Ripert called the attacks "heinous" while Algerian authorities urged residents to rally against the violence Sunday, the BBC reported.
Al-Qaida's North Africa wing, the Islamic Maghreb, laid claim to the attacks in an Internet statement, the BBC reported.
