HUNTINGTON, Utah, Aug. 19 (UPI) -- Rescue workers have found no sign of six miners trapped in a Utah coal mine for nearly two weeks, and one rescue leader said Sunday hope was diminishing.

"It's likely that these miners may not be found," said Rob Moore, vice president of mine operator Murray Energy.

Numerous holes have been drilled into the Crandall Canyon mine in an effort to find the trapped men, CNN reported. But cameras and microphones inserted down the bore holes have failed to turn up evidence of the miners alive or dead.

The disaster worsened Thursday when a minor seismic event collapsed part of the mine, killing three rescue workers. Since the deaths of the rescue workers, efforts to clear the mine shaft leading to the area where the six miners are believed to be have been suspended indefinitely, CNN reported.
