Reports: Snow leaving White House soon

WASHINGTON, Aug. 17 (UPI) -- White House press secretary Tony Snow is getting ready to step down as U.S. President George W. Bush’s spokesman, media reports said Friday.

Sources inside and outside the administration said Snow will leave as early as next month, CNN said.

When contacted by CNN, however, Snow said, “I’m not making any announcement.”

Snow told conservative syndicated radio show host Hugh Hewitt he would not stay for Bush’s full second term. Snow also said to expect “a couple” of White House resignations soon.

At the Bush ranch in Crawford, Texas, Friday, administration spokesman Gordon Johndroe said he was “not aware of any resignation being submitted or anything like that.”
