NASHVILLE, Aug. 10 (UPI) -- An HIV-positive man charged in Tennessee with molesting underage boys may have used his church for assignations, investigators said.
Police said Maurice Carter had an underage boy with him when he was arrested in May after a routine traffic stop. They also said he had marijuana and what the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation described as “inappropriate photos and videos.”
Kristin Helm, a spokeswoman for TBI, told The Nashville Tennessean investigators were still trying to locate victims. She said Carter -- who lives in Riddleton -- may have molested boys at the Lily Hill Missionary Baptist Church there.
"Mr. Carter was very involved in his church," Helm said.
Carter, who is free on bail, faces 61 counts involving several minors.
