'Green' protest banned at Heathrow

LONDON, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Britain’s High Court has banned environmentalists from staging a “green” protest next week at London’s Heathrow Airport.

Protesters immediately branded the court’s action as the “mother of all injunctions,” Sky News reported Monday.

Heathrow officials said they sought the injunction to protect staff and passengers during the busy vacation season, while organizers of the "green" protest called the injunction confusing and claimed it would prevent millions from using roads and public transportation around the airport.

Environmentalists want to stage a rally near the airport to protest jet noise, air pollution and a proposed expansion, Sky News reported.
