LONDON, Aug. 3 (UPI) -- A man jailed in Britain for the gang killing of a Somalian youth has been identified as the son of former Ugandan dictator Idi Amin.
A court order banning the news media from revealing the identity of Faisal Wangita, 25, was lifted Friday, the BBC reported.
Wangita's papers said he was born in Uganda but he told police at the time of his arrest that he was from Saudi Arabia.
Authorities say he arrived in England some time ago and was living there legally with his mother, one of Amin's seven wives.
Wangita was among 13 people convicted of various offenses surrounding the beating death of Mahir Osman, 18, near the Camden tube station in London in 2006.
The court sentenced Wangita to five years in jail on charges of conspiracy to wound with intent and violent disorder.
Osman was stabbed 20 times and beaten with with baseball bats, bottles and hammers.
The incident reportedly stemmed from an escalating feud between rival Somali groups.
