STOCKHOLM, Sweden, July 28 (UPI) -- Two small groups from opposite ends of the political spectrum found common ground in central Sweden Saturday where they proceeded to wail on each other.

The brawl between about 20 banner-waving far-right activists and a like number of the far-left Antifascist Aktion occurred in a popular Stockholm public square known as Medborgarplatsen.

"They were throwing things at each other and were generally rowdy, but we managed to separate them," said Bjorn Engstrom, a Stockholm police spokesman.

No one was hurt in the confrontation, which began when the leftist extremists learned where the right-wing extremists were handing out leaflets, The Local reported. Neither group had a permit to hold a demonstration.
