BEIRUT, Lebanon, July 25 (UPI) -- Fighting renewed Wednesday between the Lebanese army and Islamic militants holed up for more than two months in a refugee camp in northern Lebanon.

After squeezing the militants into a small area of the Nahr al-Bared camp, the army renewed its pressure Wednesday in hopes of forcing a surrender, reported KUNA, Kuwait's news service.

A total of 119 Lebanese army soldiers and almost as many militants have been killed since the fighting began May 20.
