LONDON, July 14 (UPI) -- Two doctors -- one in Britain and one in Australia -- were charged Saturday in connection with recent failed car bomb attempts in Glasgow and London.
Dr. Sabeel Ahmed, 26, Liverpool, was charged under Britain's Terrorism Act with having information that could have prevented an act of terrorism, the BBC said. Ahmed is to appear in City of Westminster Magistrates Court in London Monday.
Australian police charged Dr. Mohammed Haneef Saturday with providing "reckless support" to a terrorist group, the BBC said.
The two doctors are among seven people taken into custody so far following the unsuccessful attacks in central London June 29 and at Glasgow's airport June 30. Iraqi doctor Bilal Talal Samad Abdullah was charged July 6 with conspiracy to cause explosions.
Police are questioning three other men in London -- including Dr. Mohammed Asha of Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, and two trainee doctors. The two trainees must be charged by Sunday or released.
Kafeel Ahmed, who was severely burned in the airport incident, remained hospitalized under police guard.
