Nigerian chief's son kidnapped

PORT HARCOURT, Nigeria, July 12 (UPI) -- The son of a prominent Nigerian chief was kidnapped by gunmen in the country's oil epicenter, Nigeria's Guardian newspaper reported Thursday.

The 3-year-old son of Iriebe Chief Eze Francis Amadi was abducted from his chauffeur-driven car on his way to school.

The boy's abduction came just days after another 3-year-old kidnap victim -- a young British girl taken in Port Harcourt -- was released.

Nigerian militants protesting the presence of foreign oil companies in the country have kidnapped more than 150 people since the beginning of the year.
