Police: Wife wanted husband dead

PALM BEACH, Fla., July 7 (UPI) -- A Florida woman charged with attempted murder wanted her husband dead so he wouldn't find out about the collapse of their business, it was reported Saturday.

April A. Moylan, 39, was being held at the St. Lucie County jail in the June 26 shooting of her husband, Michael, who survived, reported The Palm Beach Post.

Moylan said she accidentally shot her husband in the head while he slept next to her. Investigators allege she wanted him dead because of the collapse of a business her husband entrusted to her, police said.

The Moylans, both felons with drug convictions, owned a masonry business that soared and crashed along with the real estate market, said the Post.

They owned flashy sports cars, a Tennessee vacation home and a home in PGA Village in St. Lucie County. A bank foreclosed on the PGA home in February, but Michael Moylan said he had no clue about the collapse until this past week.

"Thousands of lies must have had to have been told to keep these business things under wraps," said Michael Moylan. "I feel like an idiot."
