LONDON, July 1 (UPI) -- The family of Madeline McCann recently received a pair of photographs of the abducted girl that were stolen by a London pickpocket nearly two weeks ago.

McCann's father Gerry had lost the photos when his wallet was stolen last month, yet recently the two photos found their way back to him through an anonymous source, The Sunday Telegraph said.

The McCann family had asked publicly that the "irreplaceable" photos be returned to them as the troubled family continues its search for its missing daughter.

Apparently heading the family's heartfelt request, someone mailed the wallet and most of its contents to the family immediately.

The missing girl's great-uncle, Brian Kennedy, said the act of kindness was appreciated by the family in such disturbing times.

"I have spoken to Gerry and he is pleased. As far as I can tell, all the pictures that were in there of Madeleine are still there," Kennedy told the British newspaper. "It's a bit of good news, which we haven't had for some time."
