HONG KONG, June 29 (UPI) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao arrived in Hong Kong Friday to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the return of Hong Kong to China from Britain.

It was Hu's first visit to Hong Kong as president, the BBC reported.

This weekend, Hong Kong will see anniversary celebrations and demonstrations calling for increased democracy in the administrative region, the BBC reported.

Under the "one country, two systems" policy, Hong Kong operates autonomously in several domestic areas and relies on China for others.
