AMMAN, Jordan, June 27 (UPI) -- Saudi Arabian King Abdullah bin Abdel-Aziz arrived in the Jordanian capital of Amman Wednesday to discuss relations between the two Mideast nations.

The Saudi king's visit to Jordan represents his first to the neighboring nation since he took office. His two-day visit will include talks with Jordanian King Abdullah II about the state of relations between their countries and throughout their troubled region, the Kuwait news agency KUNA reported.

Chief among the regional concerns the pair will likely discuss are the developments made by Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon.

Abdel-Aziz also is expected to visit with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas while in Jordan to discuss relations between Hamas and Fatah in the Palestinian territories.

KUNA said the visit to Jordan is part of an international tour being conducted by Abdel-Aziz, who will soon visit Egypt and already has met with officials in France, Spain and Poland.
