TRENTON, N.J., June 14 (UPI) -- A young man accused of two gang-related killings was accidentally freed from a New Jersey jail after a court hearing on an unrelated theft charge.

Dontay Brannon, 19, remained at large Thursday.

Brannon was taken from the Mercer County Jail for a municipal court hearing in Hamilton Monday. A relative went to the court and paid $200 bail, allowing Brannon to walk free, The Trenton Times reported.

Officials at the jail only learned he was free when someone reported seeing him on the street.

Investigators claimed that Brannon is a member of the Gangster Killer Bloods gang in Trenton. He allegedly killed Terrance Williams and David Campbell in separate shootings in November. Police say that both victims belonged to the Sex Money Murder gang.

"He should be considered extremely dangerous," Pete Daly, a county spokesman, said.

County officials are trying to determine why the officers who took Brannon to court weren't informed of the pending murder charges. Brannon is also charged with a third shooting in November that left the victim paralyzed.
