Castro mocks Bush visit to Albania

HAVANA, June 13 (UPI) -- Ailing Cuban leader Fidel Castro mocked President George Bush's recent visit to Albania, where he was warmly welcomed.

In an editorial that appeared this week in the pages of Granma -- Cuba's state-run newspaper -- Castro called the diplomatic trip "The Tyrant Visits Tirana," referring to the Albanian capital.

The Cuban president also noted Bush was harassed by protesters during stops in Italy and Germany.

Castro, 80, is suffering from a gastro-intestinal illness that prompted him nearly one year ago to turn over control of the island nation's Communist government to his younger brother Raul.
