Durant, 47, was arrested three years ago and faces more than 20 years in prison of convicted on charges of murder, burglary and theft, the Times of London said Monday.

Durant has claimed in letters sent to a British newspaper that he was driven to kill Durrell by voices from his television and that he ate portions of her body before disposing of the remains in trash bags.

The Times said Durant, a former heroin addict with a long rap sheet, also said in the letters that he had killed two other people over the years.
