SOUTH SHIELDS, England, June 9 (UPI) -- A British woman was recovering Saturday after her four-wheel-drive vehicle plunged 80 feet off a seaside cliff.
The Daily Mail said the 29-year-old woman left a pub parking lot in South Shields about dawn and promptly drove her Land Rover Discovery through a fence and landed on the beach below,

Northumbria police said the woman should survive and the accident was under investigation.
The incident took place at the Marsden Grottom, a popular establishment built into the side of a cliff and accessible from the beach or from the parking lot by elevator.
