Siblings find each other at school

SAN JOSE, Calif., June 8 (UPI) -- A California teenager found his sister after a 13-year-search at the high school vocational program they both attend.

"I think that is my sister," Zachary Holbrook said to a friend when Shanaseey Holbrook-Sambrano was honored in a June 1 award ceremony at Central County Occupational Center, the San Jose (Calif.) Mercury-News reported.

Zachary, 17, studies law enforcement at the center. Shanaseey, 15, is in the dental assistance program.

The siblings had looked for each other online, and Zachary had pedaled his bike around the neighborhood where he thought his sister lived. But the last time he'd seen her she was 5 years old, and they didn't connect at the vocational school until her heard her name at the ceremony.

Since reuniting, they've had dinner and a two-hour conversation with an older brother in Wisconsin.

"They talked like they've always been brothers," Shanaseey told the Mercury-News. "We're family."
