ORLANDO, Fla., June 5 (UPI) -- Police in Orange County, Fla., said three young people allegedly shot randomly at pedestrians early Tuesday, injuring two of them.

Police had a 16-year-old girl in custody and were searching for two young men, WKMG-TV reported.

Two pedestrians, one who was shot in the back and another who was shot in the buttocks, were taken to an area hospital. They were shot 5 miles apart very early in the morning from a stolen SUV, WKMG reported.

"As the (Dodge) Durango pulled up next to him, five shots were fired at that time," Orange County sheriff's Capt. Steve Lang told WKMG of the first shooting. "The victim was shot once in the back."

Police said the two suspects who fled apparently still had the gun, which had been left in the SUV by its owner.
