NEW DELHI, June 3 (UPI) -- Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva arrived in India Sunday for a three-day visit, accompanied by more than 100 business executives.

During his time in India, da Silva will reportedly meet with his Indian counterpart, A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, and other leaders, Agencia Estado news agency reported Sunday.

Economic ties between Brazil and India have grown much closer in recent years, with India importing nearly $1 billion in Brazilian goods in 2006.

The Brazilian leader last visited India in 2004.
