LONDON, June 3 (UPI) -- The parents of a 4-year-old girl abducted during a family vacation are planning an international "Madeleine Day" from their home in Britain.
A month after Madeleine McCann was taken from a holiday apartment in Portugal, her parents, Gerry and Kate McCann, are trying to enlist international stars such as David Beckham and Sir Elton John to be featured on "Madeleine Day," The Sunday Times reported.
The creation of a day dedicated to Madeleine is her parents' way of keeping her image alive to the public, the British newspaper reported. The McCanns also have approached "Harry Potter" author J.K. Rowling about distributing bookmarks featuring Madeleine's picture.
The McCanns have completed a series of appeals in several European cities and plan to travel to Morocco next week, where a girl matching Madeleine's description was seen recently . Both parents said they believe their daughter is still alive.
