A similar delay in service also was encountered by IBEX Airlines Co., Skynet Asia Airways Co. and Hokkaido International Airlines Co. Those airlines were tied to Nippon through their computer systems.

Nippon said the system error directly affected its reservation and boarding processes, as well as luggage flow.

While Nippon has since restarted its flight operations, the news agency reported the airline warned travelers the incident may delay flights Monday, as well.
