WASHINGTON, May 23 (UPI) -- A solid majority of respondents to a UPI-Zogby International poll said they believe China isn't a solid partner with the United States in the war on terror.
Participants in a May 16-18 Zogby interactive poll were asked to what level they agreed China is a partner to the United States in the global war on terror. Just 1.8 percent strongly agreed and 18.2 percent said they somewhat agreed China was a partner in the fight.
Some 36.4 percent said they somewhat disagreed and 27.2 percent strongly disagreed China is a U.S. partner in the war on terror.
Republican and Democratic participants were mostly in line with the overall sample, except that 21.6 percent of Democrats said they weren't sure, compared to 16.4 percent of the total sample of 5,141 U.S. residents.
There is a 1.4-percentage-point margin of error in the data.
