WASHINGTON, May 20 (UPI) -- Supporters of Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, were in Washington to cheer on the Cleveland politician, but some voiced concerns about his presidential bid.
Some anti-war protestors on hand this weekend questioned whether Kucinich should seek the Democratic nomination for the 2008 presidential election, the Cleveland Plain Dealer said.
"Dennis is saying all the right things, but I just worry that he isn't getting the exposure that he needs and that he is not being taken seriously," said Rosalie Yelen, a New York anti-war activist.
A recent nationwide poll by the Pew Research Center found that only 1 percent of the Democrats surveyed gave their support to the Ohio politician, the newspaper said.
"Kucinich keeps getting 1 percent in polls and doesn't look like a winner," political scientist John Mueller said. "He voted the right way to please people that hate the war most, but you need more than that to become president."
