WARSAW, Poland, May 17 (UPI) -- A sandstorm prevented Poland's prime minister from meeting his soldiers in Iraq while he was staying in Baghdad, Polish Radio reported Thursday.
Polish Prime Minister Jaroslaw Kaczynski flew from Warsaw Wednesday to Baghdad on a one-day unannounced visit for talks with his Iraqi counterpart Nouri al-Maliki on exports of Polish weapons and military equipment, the radio said.
The desert storm stopped Kaczynski from flying from Baghdad to the Divaniyah base to see Polish soldiers.
This was the second time in three weeks that Kaczysnki missed out on meeting Polish troops in Iraq. Three weeks ago Kaczynski's plane was not allowed to enter Iraqi air space.
Poland has 900 troops as part of the U.S.-led international force deployed in Iraq.
