Former lacrosse coach slams Duke

DURHAM, N.C., May 11 (UPI) -- Former Duke Lacrosse Coach Mike Pressler slams the Durham, N.C., university's handling of the team sex scandal in his book, "It's Not About the Truth."

The book, which hits shelves June 12, is the account of Pressler and co-author Don Yaeger, who claim Duke officials were more concerned about the school's image than supporting the players wrongfully accused of sexually assaulting a stripper, New York Newsday reported Friday.

"The thing that might be most disheartening to me is that ... the only people that have stood up and apologized ... were the players," Pressler wrote. "The adults in this picture -- the faculty, the administration -- they haven't apologized for anything."

All three players indicted in the sexual scandal were declared innocent by the North Carolina attorney general in January and Pressler, who said he was forced to resign, is now coaching in Rhode Island.
