Hamas threatening about Israeli forces

GAZA, May 8 (UPI) -- Hamas promised a tough response to any Israeli military action in the Gaza Strip.

"The Israelis will suffer heavy losses if they launch a wide-scale offensive," a Hamas spokesman told YNetNews.

Other Palestinian organizations were also threatening when discussing how they'd respond to an Israeli military operation, which Israel has said would be a response to Qassam rockets fired from Gaza into Israel.

A spokesman for the Popular Resistance Committees, Abu Abir, told YNetNews Israeli soldiers invading Gaza would will return home "tidy, but in coffins."

Abu Ubaida, a spokesman for Hamas' military wing, said Israel would be greeted by surprises in a Gaza invasion.

"These surprises will be much bigger than those Hezbollah prepared for Israel," he said on the Palestinian Web site al-Madar, YNetNews reported.
